“Ata” Group of Companies operating since 2003 has established distinctive companies in the different sectors of economy by passing a rapid development way within this period, and has taken a peculiar place in Azerbaijan economy.
As a result of successful continuation of political and macro-economic stability by the present government and which was established by the nation-wide leader, Heydar Aliyev, at the same time properly determining the use of oil revenues flowing to the country, a stable and productive condition for small and medium as well as big entrepreneurships was created.
For its strategic geographic position Azerbaijan has a potential to be a regional producer and service leader directed towards exportation. Recently “Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan” Oil Pipeline named after our great leader, Heydar Aliyev, was put into operation. This pipeline which is a graphic example of the slogan “two states-one nationality” said and imbedded in the heart by the leader of all Turkish world, Heydar Aliyev, will strengthen the prestige of Azerbaijan in the region and world.
We are very delighted as of Azerbaijan takes one of the first places in the world for the growth rate of its economy. The carried out proper economic policy will provide the protection of positive indices despite expected relative delay after the rapid growth in economy. Azerbaijan has already entered a continuous growth condition, and at present the target is to reach European countries by improving the population welfare.
“Ata” Group of Companies, being one of the leading companies, perceives its responsibility on improving the economic development of our country and the level of population welfare. World practice shows that the role of big economic subjects, holding type companies is great in providing economic development of the countries.
“Ata”Group of Companies carries out its activity on the basis of special conception called “Synergy conception”. In accordance with this conception, such incorporation of the enterprises is carried out so that as a result of this incorporation the gained profit is much more than the profit gained by these enterprises separately. And we also carry out such incorporation from which we get much more profit for ourselves and at the same time for our society.
We have achieved great achievements within the last 3 years. Among these achievements, I would like to state the establishment of “Ata” Group of Companies regional network all over the country. As you know, President Mr.Ilham Aliyev set up a thesis on opening 600 thousand work places within 5 years in his pre-election platform. Together with the government structures, we established our branches in Khachmaz, Ganja, Shamkir, Sumgait, Lankaran, Mingachevir, Ali Bayramli, Yevlakh, Goychay cities taking the principle “Economic power of Azerbaijan means economic power of regions” as a basis which is one of the main principles of our strategic conception, and perceiving our responsibility and duty deeply as a big business subject.
At present “Ata” Group of Companies concentrates its activity on five sectors (financial sector, industrial and commercial sectors, tourism, construction and service sectors, communication and information technologies sector, energy sector). I would like to note, without commenting their activity widely in 2005, there was the opening ceremony of “Zayamkandmash” OJSC which is a subsidiary company of “AtaSanaye” LLC qualifying production of variety of agricultural techniques. At the same time in 2005 6 branches were opened in regions and office buildings complying with modern standards for every branch were built.
In March --- new branches in Yevlakh, Ali Bayramli, and in Aprel in Goychay, Mingachevir, Lankaran and Sumgait were opened.
And in August 2005 there was an official opening ceremony of 5+ stars “Excelsior Hotel Baku” hotel of “Ata Tourism” which is included to “AtaHolding” Group of Companies. We felt pride in participation in this ceremony with the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev and the first lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
Besides, last year the reconstruction works were completed in “Shamkir-Gushchulug (Poultry)” LLC which is a subsidiary company of “Ata Sanaye” LLC, and a poultry farm qualified egg production and acting on the basis of modern technologies was put into operation. The farm had minimal losses in the “bird flu” crisis at the beginning of 2006, and modern technologies, used in its activity played a great role.
I may point out the following achievements of our companies: receiving ISO 9001:2000 international quality certificate by “AtaSigorta” OJSC; bringing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to market by “Ata Technology” LLC through adapting it with the Azeri language and legislation; making “AtaBank” OJSC a member of ADFIMI ((Association of National Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank); successfully completing the construction of “Excelsior Hotel Baku” hotel by “Atainshaat”LLC.
One of our projects, which we give special significance is “AtaAcademy” project. We decided to implement this project for the purpose to meet the requirements of all employees on knowledge and skills by eliminating old methods as well as to give our contribution to developing human resources which is at present one of the essential issues for Azerbaijan.
During this period we extended our network both inside and outside of the country. Recently “AtaHolding” OJSC opened its representative office in Georgia, and then “AtaHolding-Georgia” LLC subsidiary company which is included in “Ata” Group of Companies was established in Georgia. At the same time, “AtaHolding”OJSC opened its representative office in Turkey. “Ata” Group of Companies whose main target is to be an international company will give great significance to its extending besides upgrading the activity efficiency of existing foreign representation offices and branches network as well as. At present “AtaHolding” OJSC carries out works in the direction of establishing a representative office in Russian Federation and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
I do believe in our companies’ expected future development and their extra value to our overall performance from positive point of view.
Our government and we bear a significant responsibility for developing this gained productive condition. I would like to express my conviction that our government will sign significant success in the direction of more improving the investment condition by providing macro-economic stability under the leadership of President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, directing oil revenues to the country economy without negative influence on this stability, increasing the infrastructural network all over the country to the most modern level, continuing economic reforms. Demonstrating devotion to democratic properties and market economy principles by Azerbaijan established positive and reliable atmosphere both among the country society and the foreign economic circles.
We intend to implement our social responsibility through extending our works in the following years, increasing our profit by deriving advantages from the gained results. So, “Ata” Group of Companies basing on the slogan of “Synergy, for Azerbaijan…” will strengthen its leadership role in the country; economy once more and will move forward with confident steps as being an international Azerbaijan company.
